With a choice of three driving modes Pure, Hybrid and Power drivers can choose to run the V60 solely on electric power for up to 50km with zero emissions. It’s not slow, either. The Volvo V60 Plug-in hybrid can launch from 0-100km/h in just 6.1 seconds when utilising the combined capacity of the diesel engine and electric motor, with the powertrain’s total output rated at 212kW of power and 660Nm of torque.

The major difference comes in the rear end, where an Electric Rear Axle Drive (ERAD) unit gives power to the rear wheels. Just by looking at it, the Peugeot 301 does not strike you as an exceptional off-roader. It’s not really an off-roader at all but it’s creators most certainly did focus on it’s terrain capability.
