Ferrari Gives Up on 2011 Championship to Prepare Next Year’s Car
But even with Felippe Massa saying that nothings over and Luca di Montezemolo claiming that he expects more wins in 2011, team principal Stefano Domenicali revealed to the Telegraph that the Scuderia will stop developing this year’s car in September.
From this point on, Ferrari will concentrate all of its resources on next year’s car. And, given Red Bull’s huge points advantage, no one can really blame them.
“OK, if you have to do some fine tuning you can do it. But otherwise you will lose a lot of time on development of the new car. The more time we can spend on the wind tunnel the better” said Domenicali. “What I really want to avoid is another difficult winter like the last two years," he added.

Listen Up and Vote New SRT Viper vs Lamborghini Aventador vs Lexus LFA
Three very different schools of automotive thought came together at a Cars and Coffee meeting in Irvine, California, a couple of weeks ago, for a mechanical symphony comprised of 32 cylinders, 19.7-liters and a whopping 1,884-horses.

Thankfully, the revving competition between the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4, 2013 SRT Viper and the Lexus LFA was captured on film by several visitors for our enjoyment.
Well remind you that the Aventador is powered by a mid-mounted 6.4-liter V12 pushing out 691-horses (700PS) at 8,250rpm and 507 lb-ft (690Nm) at 5,500rpm.
Japans entry, the Lexus LFA, is fitted with a screaming 4.8-liter V10 that generates 553hp (560PS) at 8,700rpm and 354 lb-ft (479Nm) at 6,800rpm.
Finally, Americas new SRT Viper has a front-mounted 8.4-liter V10 cranking out 640hp (649PS) at 6,200rpm and 600 lb-ft (814Nm) at 5,000rpm.

Automotive Technology Round Up 2013 Consumer Electronics Show
Heres a prediction based on the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas: youre going to come across some unusual names when it comes to in-car tech. Starlink, Dragon Drive, Glympse, Aha, TuneIn and Kaliki are just a few examples.

If you have a smartphone, and you probably do, this not-so-humble device will be at the silicon heart of your future cars infotainment system. And depending on the make of car, thats where those words will come in.
Fords Sync system will link up with the Kaliki Audio Newsstand app to bring current events and topical articles into the cabin, read aloud not by some less-than-human voice with odd inflections but by real voice-over artists with crisp enunciation.
Sticking with Ford and Sync, another bell (or is it a whistle?) is Glympse, a voice-activated location sharing app. Yes, users can tell other people where they are just by speaking. To be fair, its a bit more involved than that. A voice message can bring up a map reference on the recipients computer. Or that info can save making a call or text, while still giving your other half time to make a shopping list following that "Im right near the supermarket" message.
Also on Sync, but coming to Porsche, Chrysler, Acura, Honda and Subaru is Aha, an Internet radio app. Or, as Aha puts it, "web-based entertainment and information in a radio-like format familiar to drivers." What that means is more than 30,000 customizable internet radio stations streaming music, news and podcasts through the smartphone and out of the cars speakers. It will also read out text messages and social media updates.
As Sync is to Ford, Starlink is to Subaru -- and that includes Aha. TuneIn is yet another Internet radio app found in the 2013 Chevrolet Sonic and 2014 Chevrolet Spark. This has 70,000 stations, so users really should be able to find something they like.
Bear in mind these systems can be activated by voice commands.
Dragon Drive is a Hyundai creation with an advanced voice recognition program. Not much to do with dragons, but its a way for drivers to speak instructions in a natural and conversational manner. They can dictate text messages, request weather forecasts, ask the audio system to play their favorite songs or get directions to a restaurant.
